As you know the OUYA is a new $99 console. The specs include a a9 processor, tegra 3 GPU, and 1 gb of ram. My question is since GOC is free wouldnt it make sense to release it on OUYA. It could become the OUYA's killer application! You could use the Ouya Dev Kit to port the game over. I know you guys may think that it's a waste of time it really isnt. What you'd be doing is expanding GoC's reach. I added a poll to show what the community thinks. You already have one yes.

isn't the OUYA an ANDROID thingy? it wouldn't be able to run the cry engine, so no.

I thought you could port it over in cryengine? It must have been UDK that was the mobile one. All I'm trying to say is if its possible, why not try. I'm going to be getting an ouya so that would make me more anxious to get it.

Im not going to vote simply because we dont even know how popular this game is even going to get. And if a halo game appears on any console, Microsoft will make sure its their console first.

Wouldn't it be cool though? Maybe you don't want it and that's fine, but I think I'd be awesome. And Microsoft never put that in rules. BVG hasn't violated any by keeping low. Maybe keep the GOC OUYA thing quiet until the next trailer at launch. I'm just trying to state as a gamer it would be better for more options. that's the real poll question here.

Well porting the game will take lots of time, and not to mention weak specs, compatibility issues, and limited controller buttons. If it were to be ported, it would be on a smaller scale (somewhere like Halo 2-3 graphics and probably max 16 players (just guessing!) and if it EVER got too popular on the OUYA, Microsoft still has the rights to pull the plug on it whenever they want if their that greedy.

Since we can mod and hack the OUYA, we could possibly upgrade the ram and video card, but i think thats about it.

Eh, I don't think it can be ported over. It would be awesome if it could, but I don't think it could be done. Unless bvg wanted to develop the game in multiple game engines.

Those are some great facts. Microsoft could stop production of GoC at any time. At launch, afterlaunch, even right now. So they could stop us at anytime without the OUYA, so what I guess what im tryng to argue is why not do it while we can. Even if that mmeans after launch they port it. My reason for saying we should do it is to create a wider audience so that way when BVG is making their next game people on the console will be familiar with them nd say, "These guys made an amazing game in the past on our platform, lets see what they have this time."

I really hope they do. I prefer console gaming to PC.

Ummm. A halo game on another console? I don't think Microsoft would be very happy if bvg did that. Yeah i know there os a halo game for the atari but that's different, that didn't play like traditional halo,GoC is actually going to look and play like halo and distributing it on a home console that isn't xbox related would really anger Microsoft studios officials.

I for one agree. BVG should expand their game audience. This would allow much better popularity in thefuture, I believe. PLus I'm planning on purchasing an OUYA so it would be awesome if Galaxy of Combat was on it.

I'd like to restart this topic considering the OUYA's massive need for a flagship title.

and honestly it looks like the OUYA is kinda set itself up for failure because the new tegra chipset is comming out or something, and it is using an out dated chipset, so yeah.... and what is the point of it if you could get a phone anyway?

Android-based does not mean it is an andriod phone. Ouya will not be using the Google Play store for their games, they have their own marketplace and unique operating system.
