Community Based Story! :)

I have an idea! Lets all make a story. A story of great science fiction. So the way it would work is we just add on where the last person leaves off. I'll start.

Story: The world is a land called Tarynox.(First thing random letters gave me Wink

)It is a cold place that resembles old western America(Like cowboys) and is dominated by four factions. One an architectural and technological monarchy aimed for conquest. Another is one aimed for conquest and is mainly a religion and exploration democracy. There is another faction aimed for conquest and it is a war-hungry tyranny. Then finally we have a peace making oligarchy aimed for perfection. The main character is a warrior and...

So like you guys continue the story Smile

I would just like to add please keep it clean. One last thing, make the text blue Smile

He was born to a great citadel located on the border of all four factions' territories. This independant city-state of peace and trade is called Eriwald. Because of its location is has been the hub of politics and information for the four ruling factions of Tarynox. But it has also been a vast target as well. He was trained...

to be a warrior, and the prophecy foretold that he would be the one to unite the factions. What the prophecy did not say was how he was to do it. Would he unite all the kingdoms through conquest, or through peace?

He was unsure of the path he must follow, but it is a fact that he was raised in a peaceful and neutral city-state so he was taught in such a way. He was forged to fulfill his prophecy by the strongest Eriwald Knights and the brightest Eriwald philosophers. Sir Kaine, of Eriwald's Shadow Guard, taught him to fight with speed and agility while Nefon*, philosopher of the Phoenix Order, taught him morals, politics, and etiquette. He without a doubt these skills would be necessary for the unification of Tarynox; a strong sword for conquest, a strong voice for leadership, a strong mind for tactics, a strong tongue for politics, and a strong foundation to base his morals.[

(* Nefon is pronounced as Knee-fawn)

The story begins with his 21st birthday. He is forced in to a tradition everybody in Eriwald is force to go through. The event symbolizes equality and means that he shall not take sides with any faction. The tradition is doe by one being baptized in the ice lions blood. This sacred tradition is ruined when one of the assassins of the Tartaruz Legion(the tyranny) tries to drown the main character in an effort to stop him from being unable to pick sides and making the prophecy live on.

He was barely able to overpower the man who attempted to drown him. But this experience made him more cautious about life. Whenever he'd train with his weapons, he'd be more defensive than offensive. He'd use strategy over force to find the best outlook, the one that wasn't too dangerous for him. He understood that being a part of the prophecy, he'd always have more friends than enemies...

but that also meant he was a big target. In fact, a day later he had to run off from Eriwald, for he knew it wasn't safe. He knew he had to fulfill the prophecy. The one thing he had no idea on was how. He ran off to a village located in the Kabrax(Democracy) territory called Norx.

He knew that many others would know him in this city. So he changed his name to disguise himself from the public. Here, he could hope to gain trustworthy friends to reveal his identity to, when the time was right.

He continued to study his swordsmanship in private while residing in the village. He stayed at an inn and worked to live there so his funds were not vast. He was waiting for the right time to move on when, suddenly, there was word of magic exhibition coming within the next three days. The village would be filled with magic-users from all around Tarynox competing and having fun. Who knows if an assassin, or two, would be lurking during this event, but if he was able to make a powerful magic-user his ally he job would be much easier.

The days passed swiftly and as the day of the magic exhibition came to, he was ready with his finely crafted sword holstered on his back and a hidden blade in his boot in case a problem would arise. As he explored the exhibition he found many talented magi-users as they showed off their talents and discoveries. One of them in such spent a whole seven years in a cave melting enchanted ice to find one of the lost pieces of Shalndors Sacred Armor, one of over 43 fragments. Others displayed new spell-books and tomes, but one in particular... A girl who stood tall with a polearm like weapon in her hands, it had a pulsing stone in the middle of the axe which fired out balls of ice that went flawlessly through the flying fire loops in a display of amazing skill. He immediately made himself noticeable to her as he went through the crowd. She saw him and became hostile firing her magika at him. He jumped out of the way landing on his back. She swiftly grabbed his shirt. "I know you're here to kill me! This day wont be it!" He was confused, but suddenly three men in cloaks came from the crowd. She quickly started running and they followed. He had to somehow get to the girl before they did...

He quickly jumped up and burst through the crowd in an attempt to keep up with the men who were chasing the girl. The three men seemed to almost glide through the crowd in their pursuit of the girl. As he was ducking between pedestrians and magic stalls he could see the glint of a short blade from under one of the men's cloaks. It had an odd purple stone, not gem. But as he was about to catch up a pair of armored men halted him. They wore heavy plate armor with an emblem that looked like an Angel layered over the symbol for magic which was a five pointed star and two overlapping circles*. This emblem made it obvious that they were Kabrax knight magi-users known as Vanguards.

"Halt! You're coming with us. We've recieved orders, from the Holy Kabrax Senate, to detain you until Captain Deckard can arrive. You are now under the direct restraints of the Iron Cross of Kabrax."

This obviously wasn't a request as their halberds began to shimmer with, what appeared to be, light magic. To avoid a scene he had to comply and find that girl later. He thought that she seemed able to handle herself though. He reluctantly followed their lead as they led him towards the village's gate when...

(*The five pointed start represents the five elements: Water, Fire, Earth, Wind and Electricity. The circles individually represent light and dark magic, and the two overlapped parts represent the creation of omni-magic which is the combination of light and dark magic. Please include this description of the emblem/magic in a further section)

The Vanguards led him in chains as they headed towards the City of RavenShire. Under control of the religious democratic faction of Kabrax. As they traveled until nightfall, the convoy stopped and set up camp. He was put tide up on a poll right behind the horses. Good thing he and his knife in his boot as he slowly cut his way out unnoticed by one guard on watch.
He slipped slowly towards the commanders tent. As he approached, the commander was talking on a magic cube, another persons hologram appeared on it, it sounded like an old man speaking. "Our plans have changed, prophecy has foretold an undaunting event that will stop the war, with no victors in sight. You must kill the captive, now!"
As the boy heard, he quickly slipped away into the armor for supplies and magic contraptions. And soon one of the horses he fled. Back to the village, he must find someone to help him...

On his way to the Kabrax Village, Norx, he knew he had to move somewhere else. A place to make new allies. He took the path of Cusconix*, the only path that linked the five territories(This includes the four factions and Eriwald). He took this path for eight days before entering the great peace faction of Owolanx. It is here he finds refuge in a small village called Fanz. He enters the Saloon.

* Refers to the path that links the five states. It is named after the first empire of Tarynox that split up to create the four factions. Use of this can be used in further posts.

Right there and then he saw the girl again, the same blue hair, a blue skirt, a custom oriental breastplate, and a blue cloak on her back. Her right arm was bandaged, and dirt was scattered on her cheeks. She drank like a sad dampened miner and sat there alone. He approached her. But she was more fearsome and skilled than most drunks as she grabbed his shirt and slammed him on top of the table. "I killed half of your men, you're not taking me!" He was surprised. "Wait! Im not one of them! Please I'm just here to speak with you!"
She looked at him for a long time and finally let him go. Everyone looked away.

"So what do you want to talk about?" she continued drinking. He quietly told her of his situation and he thought that her skills and talent could help him stop the factions from hunting him down. She looked at him again. "You have it easier then me, the factions have barely any experience in hunting individuals. My problem is the Darklord who's mercenaries worked countless jobs and almost killed me, they took my polearm, Dainio and I barely escaped their grasp, But if you can help me get him back, I'll see what I can do. " He agreed to it and was instructed to return tomorrow before dawn...

*Note: The girl is about the same age as the boy. The dark lord has a smaller faction like group (lets call this a clan) that works underground (not literally) for evil and golddd.

They began their journey walking along an old road. The girl was quiet. "This track doesn't look right. Where are we going," the girl said.
"We are going to Porzi," He said.
"Why in Quwax*'s name are we going there? I thought you were taking me to the Darklord," she replied. The man grinned.
"I am taking you to Porzi because we need to lay low. That and we need to change profile," the man said.
"What are you implying," she exclaimed.
"Well in the cities we can first off get a transportation device. Second It would be wise if we bought new clothes and/or armor. We need to change.," quotes the man.
"We have no currency, how do you expect to pay for this," the girl replied.
"Another great thing about the city is we can find work for currency. Help around you know," He said.
"You mean mercenary work?"

EDIT: *Quawax refers to the Kabrax's god.

"No, the best part of a city are the magic guilds!" He said
The girl didn't like where he was getting at. "If we can just get inside a high class guild then our positions of apprentices will have thousands of guild-only jobs opened for us!"

They headed towards town square where the bulletin board was at stand. One fancy piece of paper was placed in the middle stating openings for different guilds. One of them caught the girls eyes.
"The Cardinals... My dad use to work there before he mysteriously disappeared..." the man interrupted.
"Well we can use what connections your father had to the guild to get in, there we can get our guild permits, work, and get enough supplies to get your precious polearm back. Then we can start with my real mission of stopping the hunting of both the dark lord and the factions."
They headed towards the guild. The doors opened, a hazy short old man stood in the front. It was the guild master...

They approached the guild master and he looked them up and down. He looked at [The Hero*] and frowned,

"You can't join the guild kiddo, You don't have an affinity for magic at all..."

Then the Guild Master turned to the girl and grinned like the perverted old man he apparently was.

"Well, well you have quite the potential. We'll make you a world-class mage in no time!"

The Guild Master did have an amazing sense of magic so [The Hero] couldn't argue against the Guild Master's reason for turning him away but...

(*Hero for lack of a better name. Will be changed when a real name is given to him. I also decided to take magic away from him so he in't ultra-powerful and he has to rely on his allies more)

He had something that would change the guild Masters mind, but also could possibly blow his cover... He took the chance, as he reached in his pockets he pulled out an amulet which caught the Masters eyes. "Come, you must follow me to a secure place." they followed him to a cellar below full of Wines and cider. He lifted his hands and the entrances turned into walls with a sealing circle on them.
"So you are what the prophecy has foretold..." he said "Your lucky you ran into me, I'm part of the Dragon Seed organization in which, it was opened to aid the prophecies of the twelve divines including three in which led to this war and the disappearance of the Elven race. The other guilds might have not been so kind to you as I am.
I guess I can take you in as an exception to guilden rules, but you are not breathen for magic so it will be hard to find jobs that require it to fight evil monsters and solve enchanting enigmas."
The boy smiled, "Don't worry, I have someone to help me" and looked at the girl. She suddenly looked away. "I need to talk to the guild master alone" she said. the boy accepted and walked out towards the opening doorway.

"So uncle..." she said "Its been a while..." she said nervously.
The guild master suddenly realized it was his runaway niece from years ago. His faced turned red as he was slightly embarrassed. "Oh god... It is you! Where have you been all of this time? Markus the V just died from a sickness and I had to take over..." She interrupted. "I need to know what happened to my father..."
"Oh, very well, lets go up to my office, I'll explain everything since you were gone." He seamlessly levitated with his short legs and a staircase of wood had appeared from the floor to his office.

*note, he is going to be the first warrior in a magic guild

When they were gone [The Hero] decided to take a look around the guild, but it was mostly empty. Most of the guild members were currently out doing jobs, but the few that were there gave him puzzled or dirty looks because he looked nothing like a mage. He just casually ignored the looks and went to the library. He took this time to read up on the many things he couldn't learn in Eriwald, due to there being no magic-users in Eriwald.

The first book he picked up was book about magic, just an overview of what magic was. He learned that there are five elemental forms of magic: fire, water, earth, electricity, and wind. He also learned that there are two magical forces separate from the elements, light and dark magic, but through this he also read about omni-magic and how it is the combination of light and dark magic. It stated that it is incredibly volatile, so much so that there are only three known cases of humans being able to use it throughout written history.

The next book he picked up was about the Elves, what the guild master said had piqued his curiosity. According to the writers of the book the Elves were a race of demi-humans that consumed mana and this allowed them to be overwhelmingly powerful magic-users. Humans had tried to invade Elven territories many times but were repelled by these magic-users with ease. Then in the year 253, of the age of the Cusconix Empire*, Emperor Kaylin sent the largest army known to man to invade the Elves. But when they arrived there was nothing and even the forest was noticeably smaller. This book was a copy of a very old historical account from the Cusconix Empire.

After that he fiqured he'd better skim some religious text to better mix with the population of Kabrax. But as he skimmed the Tarin** he became curious as to what angels were. The Tarin only stated that they were direct servants to Quawax. So he looked through the library hastily and found a book that had writing over the title saying, "Heretical Text." The book was about angels and wasn't in any way religious. It stated that these "angels" are just physical manifestations of mana that either aid humanity or wreak havoc upon it just like "demons." Stating that "demons" and "angels" are two sides of the same coin.

After he finished reading he sat there with the book on his lap and a puzzled look on his face. He was wondering why it was taking so long for the girl and the guild master to finish catching up...

(*Time in years is divided/labeled by events or rulers. **The Tarin is the religious book of Kabrax's religion. I'm also setting something aside for later where he meets an "angel" so that is why I mentioned them. I also wrote a lot to expand upon the lore and world of our story)
